What’s your favorite Curva campaign or initiative, and why?
I love Curva’s tagline “Empower with Curves” because it screams confidence. That the curves we have isn’t something that should be hidden, it should be celebrated and shared to empower yourself and other women.
In what ways do you think Curva is contributing to sustainable fashion?
One more thing I love about Curva is its sustainability which has a big impact to the environment, it decreases waste by making clothing yet their pieces are still in the best quality.
How do you see the role of shapewear evolving in the fashion industry?
Shapewear is the new confidence booster of this generation as it creates a smooth silhouette and sculpt your figure to highlight your natural curves. I think this can become a modern corset but better because it doesn’t restrict your breathing and is more comfortable to wear.
How do you think Curva is changing the conversation around body image?
Curva changes the image of “beauty and sexy”. That’s it, regardless of your body shape or size with Curva’s magic you’ll feel empowered, confident with your own body and it makes you love yourself even more. I know because that’s what I felt when I wore Curva’s shapewear.
What’s one challenge you think the body positivity movement still faces?
It’s the shame women feel when they see their body because I believe body positivity starts with one’s self. When you get to smile while you look at yourself in the mirror regardless whatever people say about you, that’s when body positivity starts. Unfortunately, a lot of women are still in the process of self-love. I am just hoping that someday they get to the point where they only see beauty when they
look at the mirror.
How do you balance the representation of beauty standards with body positivity in your content?
To be honest, I do not believe in the beauty standards set by people because I am my own beautiful and as long as I confidently speak up about body positivity and share it to people through clips of my life I believe someone will start to appreciate my beauty.
What’s one thing you’d like to see Curva develop or improve in the future?
I hope someday there’ll Curva can have shapewear in tube tops so I don’t have to worry about the straps coming out when I wear sleeveless dresses.
